Campaign Story

Your gift today will help us get to our $23,000 goal and make a difference to your neighbors in need.

Who We Are

For more than 65 years, Monadnock United Way has been committed to creating better lives for all in our region.
Many things in our region and our lives are different right now – the way we interact with each other, the way we conduct business, and the way our children learn. But the generosity and compassion in our community remain steady! Businesses and individuals rallied when our neighbors and partners began to suffer the impact of this year’s health and economic crisis.

During the heart of the pandemic, our community gave over $200,000 to MUW for direct relief in support of families, children, and areas of urgent need in the Monadnock Region!

The work of our partners is ongoing, and there is a need beyond the impact of the pandemic. When you donate to MUW’s Better Together Annual Campaign, you support your neighbors throughout the year. And you know your donations are invested directly in our region.

What We Do

Monadnock United Way’s goal is to create long-lasting changes in our region. Real change is possible when nonprofit, public, and private sectors team up to work together. Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us.

We empower people from nonprofit, public, and private sectors to come together to do three things:
  • Ensure that children live in safe, nurturing, healthy homes because we have the 2nd highest rate of child abuse and neglect in the state
  • Our neighbors have the financial resources they need to live healthy, happy, and productive lives because 1 in 4 is low-income, which is higher than the state average of 1 in 5.
  • And that everyone in our community receives an education that enables them to achieve their fullest potential because our children score lower than the rest of the state in English and Math.

How We Do it

Monadnock United Way relies on the power of Collective Impact: bringing people together – our staff, volunteers, community and business leaders, donors, and partner agency staff – to find solutions to community problems. We help to unite people and organizations around shared goals, mobilize volunteers to be social change agents, and leverage investments through measurable strategies and aligning of resources to fight for our Children, Education, Financial Stability, and Basic Needs.

Campaign Updates

    Almost There!

We are just $1060 away from making our goal of $15,000. Make your gift today and make a difference for your neighbors.

    In Case You Missed It!

In case you missed the news, John and Jean Hoffman are matching donations to the Better Together campaign dollar for dollar!

The effects of the pandemic will continue to have a profound impact on our region and its most vulnerable. Your donation, in any amount, given between now and November 13 will have twice the impact on our community. More children will have access to early childhood education, more families will have access to food, and more of your neighbors will be able to find stable housing.

Please make your gift online today. Together we can help prepare children for success, feed people who are hungry, help people find stable housing and build equitable communities.
