Campaign Story
Who We Are
Archway Farm is a small family farm located in Keene, NH, dedicated to raising quality local pork. We think pigs are awesome, and there aren't nearly enough of them in New Hampshire.
Our Mission
The animals - We take great pride in raising happy healthy animals. Our pigs are raised outside in social groups where they can root, roll in the mud, and express their true nature.
The land - We strive to be good stewards of the land we use, managing our pigs in a way that rebuilds and maintains soil health
The community - We believe a strong local food movement leads to healthier eating, supports the local economy, builds community, and preserves the rural character of the Monadnock Region. Mark is on the Board of Directors of the Monadnock Farm & Community Coalition.
The Sausage Cart
Right now Archway Farm is selling pork primarily wholesale to local retailers and restaurants:
We feel a direct connection to customers is a critical component of sustainable local agriculture. With the support of our community we would like purchase a mobile sausage cart. The sausage cart will connect not only Archway Farm to consumers, but other local producers as well (bread, condiments, drinks), and enhance the community aspect of The Farmers Market of Keene.

Our First 24 hours
In our first 24 hours we have received more than $900! Thank you for you efforts in getting the word out and your donations! We appreciate all of the backers for our campaign!
I picked up cheddar bratwurst this morning, made with cheese from Stonewall Farm. We are super excited to feature (and sample) this new sausage at our kickoff event this Saturday, March 18, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Stonewall Farm.
In addition to the samples there will be children’s activity stations and hayrides. This event is free and open to the public. Register at: tlcmonadnock.eventbrite.com.
I will be posting on a regular basis on our Facebook page and instagram account, maybe even some live video from the kickoff event:

Kick Off Party A Success
Kickoff Party:
Thanks to everyone who joined us at Stonewall Farm for a fantastic kickoff event. We have raised over $1,500 at this point, well on our way to $5,000 and a sausage cart. Ollie, our Gloucestershire Old Spot gilt, enjoyed meeting everyone, but is happy to be home now.
Featured Reward:
Our Archway Farm BBQ aprons have arrived! Claim a Deluxe Sausage Club reward and you get one of these in addition to 1 pound of four different kinds of sausage, each made with an ingredient from a local farm. Sausage will be available in March, May, July, and September.
Starts with the Cheddar Smoked Bratwurst made with Stonewall Farm cheese in March! This can be picked up at the farm in Keene or South Paris, ME, or Medford, MA. Don’t delay, there are only 10 available and 2 have already been claimed.
Thanks for your support:
We are very excited to announce that The Bread Shed has donated towards our sausage cart and become a Campaign Hero. Brittany and her crew have been very supportive of our farm as we have gotten started – we can’t think of a better partner for our sausage than a roll from The Bread Shed. Please keep sharing and helping us get the word out.

Sweet Beet!
Thirteen days left!
Less than 2 weeks to go and we’re well on track. We have 43 supporters and have raised almost 75% of our goal of $5,000. Thank you to everyone who has contributed. We’re super excited to be at the Monadnock Food Co-op this Friday night for TLC Monadnock Night. Please join us if you can, there will of course be sausage samples.
Sweet Beet sausage
We are working diligently on the next round of our Local Sausage. If you haven’t noticed, there’s not a lot of local produce being grown right now, but we were able to source some Picadilly Farm beets from the root cellar to create a brilliant Sweet Beet sausage. Pork, beets, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. Our test batch was a nice beet red color and kid approved (ours anyways).
Is it Spring Yet?
Our first four litters of 2017 are on the ground (and in the mud). Next two litters are due to come in early May. Everyone is hoping that the ground dries out and the temperatures warm up so we can get the pigs out on some green grass, and let the winter paddocks recover a little.

We Made It!
We Made it!
Our campaign closed on Saturday and we reached our goal! Prime Roast Coffee Company pushed us over the line by becoming a Campaign Hero hours before the deadline. We are truly grateful for all the support we have received from the community, family, and friends. Having Jen Risley and The Local Crowd Monadnock as well as Stonewall Farm as partners has been huge in helping us reach our goal.
The Monadnock Co-op
We had a great event at the Monadnock Food Co-op last Friday, it was great to talk to everyone about our campaign, and share some samples. We’ll be back at the Co-op this coming Saturday, April 22nd as part of their Earth Festival, stop by and say hello if you are there.
Campaign Next Steps
We will be reaching out this week to start fulfilling our campaign rewards. We are now in hot pursuit of a sausage cart, so that we can be up and operational for the spring sausage season. Stay tuned for more details.

Launching The Cart!
Busy Month
Its been quite a month since our campaign closed. We found and acquired the perfect cart soon after the close and have been have been busy getting it ready for prime time. The past week we have been painstakingly scraping off old vinyl decals in preparation for an Archway Farm rebranding (and hanging some Christmas lights)!
Cart Launch
We’re excited to say we have two events lined up to kick off the summer season:
- Saturday May 20th, 11-2: A “soft launch” at the Montessori Schoolhouse yard sale, where all proceeds will be donated to the school
- Saturday May 27th, 11-2: Our “official launch” outside the Monadnock Food Co-op on Memorial Day weekend
Campaign Rewards
We’ve caught up with many of you delivering sausage and other campaign rewards. Our second round of sausage is here so we’ll be sending out an update for that shortly, and look forward to our first of the scheduled farm tours coming up next weekend. If we have missed you for some reason please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thanks again for all the support, we hope to see many of you at an event this summer!

Help Archway Farm Move 4WARD
Please check out Archway Farm’s story on TLC 4WARD — a new initiative empowering you to support the local businesses that you don’t want to live without.
As demand for local products increased in response to COVID-19, we added more offerings to our farm store. Help us upgrade the electric service of our farm store to handle our new display freezers and a refrigerator.
More about Archway Farm’s Farm Store:
The best selection of frozen pork this side of the Connecticut River!- Self-serve and on the honor system (this means there are no employees in the store selling our wares).
- Personal check and cash are accepted. If we are there, we are also happy to take major credit cards through our Square system.
- Open every day, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM. The pigs need to eat every day, so we figure the farmstand might as well be open.
- Sign-up for our weekly newsletter for the most up-to-date information on what is available in our farmstand.
- Check out our rewards — get a gift certificate to the Monadnock Food Co-op! (Hurry! Supplies are limited).
