Dump to Dirt – Elm City Compost
Campaign Introduction:
Here at Elm City Compost, we are working on a handful of projects to advance waste diversion and sustainability efforts in the region. We are planning on expanding our Remote Drop-Off Services to surrounding towns, we have the chance to start a Pilot Compost Collection for local schools, and we are working to develop a compost site within Keene. We need community support to ensure these projects succeed. So, we are asking for your help, all of our amazing community, in raising $6,000 to grow this purpose-driven, locally owned company.

Campaign Story
Here at Elm City Compost, we are so thankful to be a part of a sustainably minded community that sees the importance and necessity of initiatives like ours. We started this adventure during the summer of 2018 and have had many successes, but we are still very much a start-up. We are asking for community support to grow our infrastructure, which in turn will grow our customer base and create a more sustainable city.
We initially launched this crowdfunding campaign hoping to raise funds to purchase a dump trailer. Our current trailer, built by owner Albert, has served us well but with the growth, we are seeing it won’t be able to accommodate the food waste we need it to. This purchase would significantly improve the infrastructure of our business, increase the speed and efficiency of our services, allow us to accommodate more customers, and divert even more waste from the landfill. To our amazement, one week after we launched, we had a generous community member reach out and donate us a dump trailer!
We were left with the decision to end the crowdfunding campaign or reinvent it -- and we chose to reinvent our campaign!
We have a multitude of projects we are working on that could use your help. We are planning on expanding our Remote Drop-Off Services into surrounding towns, we have the chance to start a Pilot Compost Collection for local schools, and we are working to develop a compost site within Keene. So, we at Elm City Compost decided to cut our crowdfunding goal in half and are asking for your help, all of our amazing community, in raising $6,000 to grow this purpose-driven, locally owned company.
